Crowns

If your natural tooth is damaged, from decay or a fracture, a dental crown is the ideal way to preserve it and provide it with more strength.

A crown is a cover for a natural tooth that fits over it’s top. It blends in with your natural teeth and is cemented into place for a secure and long-lasting hold. Once it is fitted you can eat and chew with confidence and it looks great too.

Dental Crowns can be used for:

Few Types Of Crowns

Porcelain And Ceramic Crowns

These are made of porcelain or ceramic and are metal free. They can look very natural because of it’s natural appearance and translucency.

Porcelain Bonded Crowns

These crowns have porcelain as an outer shell with an inner metal casting. You can have these crowns in all areas of the mouth.

Metal Crowns

These are fully metal crowns and will be made of either precious or non-precious metal, these are more suitable for back teeth.

The Dental Crown Procedure

During a consultation, one of our dentists will examine your teeth. This will include dental x-rays and a comprehensive examination of your mouth to see if dental crowns are an appropriate solution for you and where they should be placed. With this information, we may create suitable treatment plan for you.
We begin by prepping the tooth and verifying there is room for the dental crown to be securely placed, after which we take an impression of your mouth for the permanent
crown to be prepared. You may meanwhile wear a temporary dental crown.

How Long Do Dental Crowns Last?

A well-made high-quality dental crown should last should last many years, but much depends on the patient; how the patient looks after their teeth. Good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups with professional teeth cleaning will all help with longevity.

After you get your dental crowns, we’ll fit them and make sure they are comfortable, secure, and functional and will complement your smile.

You’ll be able to use your new dental crowns in the same way as natural teeth; you won’t notice a difference.
